· Married 18.11.1905, Timisoara, civil marriage
-KAIL Balázs, B 8.02.1886 in Réthát [i.e. Wiesenhaid, Tisa Nouă in today Timis County, Romania], so of deceased Caspar & WELTCH Marianna, living in Fröbl Utca no. 3

· B 9.11.1906, C 18.11., Timisoara Iosefin Parish, BODRI Henrik János András, illegitimate so BODRI Iulianna
MC: the fact that BODRI Henrik János András is an illegitimate son in the eyes of the Roman Catholic Church is due the fact that Julianna did not marry KAIL Balázs in a religious marriage.
07 Jun 1910 Balazs Kail age 25 traveling with wife Balazsne Kail age 25 (odd so close, the spellings of their names)
It’s nothing odd here; in Hungarian language “Balazsne Kail” means only [in fact, it’s wrong; it should be KAILne Balazs because in Hungarian language the family name is always first. This “ne” means “the legal wife of”] the wife of KAIL Balazs.
Wiesenhaid - KAIL Balázs & BODRI Julianna, were married here.

In the original Iosefin Parish KB’s (CHURCH REGISTRY) we did not find any trace on the Szende/Szentye family. More, the birth of Clara Szende/Szentye was not found in any of the Parishes existing in 1886 in Timisoara. So, she was not born or baptized in Timisoara BUT she was only living in Timisoara when she emigrated in 1910.
Instead, we did find the following ge in Iosefin Parish:
· B 9.08.1885, C 10.08., Iosefin Parish, BODRI Iulianna, illegitimate daughter of BODRI Terez, hajadon/single, originally from Toba, Torontal county, living in House 15 Preyer Utcza Jozsefváros, PNCC FABIAN Mihály, (kocsis/carter es/end neje/) & his wife TOTH Iulia (Julia)
Before 1885 we did not find any other child for BODRI Terez.
MC: “originally from” could be understand as:
1. born in that village
2. the person lived in that place before moving to a new one, where he/she is involved in a genealogical event
BODRI Teréz was not born in Tóba [Village Names: German: Toba/ Serbian: Toba/ Hungarian: Tóba. Location: in today Serbia]. We know this fact because we have all the Toba KB’s (CHURCH REGISTRY) on CD and searched for her birth/baptism. Instead, in the Toba KB’s (CHURCH REGISTRY) was found [see the attachment] something more important:
· B 14.06.1864, C 14.06., Toba Parish, Christina BODRI, daughter of Franciscus & Agnes GYURITS, living in Kikindai Tanya, PNCC Georgius HÖFLER, Christina GEBHARD
In Toba KB’s were not found any other trace on this family.
In Iosefin Parish:
· B 28.12.1886, C 1.01., Iosefin Parish, BODRI Ilona, illegitimate daughter of BODRI Teréz, hajadon/single, munkánö/working women, originally from Tóba, living in Józsevaros Preyer útcza/street no. 15, PNCC FÁBIAN Mihály, bérkocsis/carter hired with hour és/and neje/wife TÓTH Iulianna, RITTER Josefa midwife, NEUROHR Mihály, káplán/priest

Your 7 Kovose Gasse, the last address of Klara in Timisoara/Iosefin, is, in fact, [K≡G !] Gorove Gasse/Utcza no. 7 in Iosefin/Timisoara. In Timisoara did not existed a KOVOSE street.
Gasse/Utcza=Street [in German and Hungarian]
At this address [i.e. Gorove Gasse/Utcza no. 7] died D 6.06.1918, Iosefin Parish, BODRI szül/born GYURICS Ágnes, 88y[B~1830], BODRI Ferencz özvegye/widow of, originally from Oroszlamos, living in H no. 7 on Gorové Utcza, végelgyhugules, buried on 7.06. in Iosefin cemetery.
This GYURICS Ágnes is the mother of:
·
Christina BODRI, B 14.06.1864, C 14.06., Toba Parish, do Franciscus & Agnes GYURITS, living in Kikindai Tanya, PNCC Georgius HÖFLER, Christina GEBHARDand the mother of BODRI Terez [having several illegitimate children in Iosefin Parish]
and the mother of BODRI Péter which married in Iosefin:
·
M 7.08.1892, Iosefin Parish-BODRI Péter, munkas/worjker, nötlen/young man unmarried, 32y, B 28.06.1860, Novoszello, Torontal, so Ferencz, közrendü/common people, not a noble man & GYURICS Agnes, living in Józsefvaros, Fröbl Utcza no. 33
-SÁNDOR Rosália, 31y, B 20.03.1861, Magyar Szent Márton, living in Józsefvaros, Fröbl Utcza no. 33, hajadon
TNCC FEJES Lajos, földész, BOJCSUK Gergely, munkács
This BODRI Péter was the witness to Julianna’s marriage with KAIL:
·
M 18.11.1905, Timisoara, civil marriage-KAIL Balázs, B 8.02.1886 in Réthát [i.e. Wiesenhaid (see info below comments), Tisa Nouă in today Timis County, Romania], so of deceased Caspar & WELTCH Marianna, living in Fröbl Utca no. 3
-BODRI Julianna, B 9.08.1885 in Timisoara as illegitimate do Teréz BODRI, living in Rózsa Utca nr. 21
TNCC: BODRI Péter, 46y[B~1860], living in Fröbl Utca no. 52
And after all this said, how can you possibly say that Klara’s mother is not linked with the Bodri’s from Iosefin? If her first name is Julia or Christina is another matter. Both variants are possible. But for certain Klara’s mother was the daughter of BODRI Ferencz & GYURICS Ágnes.

Questions & Answers with the Genealogist
March 2005
Q: On the marriage application for Klara and Franz, Klara said her mother was Julia Bodri and father Karl Szentye.A: BUT both these first names -ie Julia & Karl- could be wrong because in other parts the father’s first name is listed as Peter or Pal/Paul
Q: Klara's last address on her Port of entry card listed her father as Peter Szende and she also said she was going to see her Cousin Blasz Kail.A: Klara's "cousin" by alliance was indeed Blasz KAIL. This cousin thing means only a family relation and not the correct degree of the relation. And they were related!
Q: The immigration papers I have for Klara says she traveled from Hamburg with her 4 yr old nephew Henrich Kail this time she said her father was Paul.A: Again, this “nephew” means only a family relation and not the correct degree of the relation.
Q: On Klara's immigration papers Klara had listed her mother as Julia Bodri and then in another spot on the same immigration papers Klara mention her mother was Christina Bodri then to confuse me more on the same immigrations papers Klara listed her father in one place as Paul Szentye and in another part on the same immigration papers Klara listed her father Peter Szende. On the marriage record Klara listed her father as Karl Szentye and mother Julia Bodri.A: In my opinion [75% sure; we did find a Christina], this was her mother’s name. In Hungarian language Szentye / Szende are pronounced very similar; only the TYE [TY is a long Y] is different then DE.
Q: After I received Klara's immigration papers and learned she and Henrich Kail went to Philadelphia together. I began searching in Philadelphia and found Julia, the daughter of Henrich Kail and telephoned her. I learned from her Henrich died November 2003, in his 90's. She also sent me documents and photos of my grandmother Klara, so I thought there had to be a family connection.A:
And there is!Q: Julia confirmed that Klara Szentye was the lady who brought her father Henrich to America in 1911. Julia also said that Juliana Bodri Kail was her father Henrich 's mother and Blasz Kail was Henrich Kail's father. Since all this information fit together so nicely I thought for sure that my grandmother was related to the Bodri's. But I have learned that Julianna Bodri Kail only had a brother who was Andrew.A: False!
BODRI Julianna B 9.08.1885 had at least 3 siblings:
·
B 28.12.1886, C 1.01., Iosefin Parish, BODRI Ilona, illegitimate do BODRI Teréz, hajadon/single, munkánö/working women, originally from Tóba, living in Józsevaros Preyer útcza/street no. 15, PNCC FÁBIAN Mihály, bérkocsis/carter hired with hour és/and neje/wife TÓTH Iulianna, RITTER Josefa midwife, NEUROHR Mihály, káplán/priest·
B 17.04.1889, C 22.04., Iosefin Parish, BODRI Mátyás, illegitimate so BODRI Teréz, hajadon/single, munkánö/working women, originally from Tóba, living in Józsevaros Preyer útcza/street no. 10
B 8.11.1892, C 13.11., BODRI András [MC: this is Andrew in English!], illegitimate so BODRI Teréz, hajadon, originally from Toba, living in Preyer Utcza, no. 7Q: I had received birth, baptismal, death and marriage records carrying 17 different spellings for Klara's last name. When you you found no information on the family name Szende/Szenty only found information on Bodri I thought well maybe something would come to light when you do your search Bodri and Klara's name just might appear.A: Peter / Pal/Paul / Karl Szentye’s death. Last time I stopped in 1920 because in the archive was very cold. Who knows, maybe you are lucky
